If we take the average number of cups drunk by US men per day, this figure is 2.22 cups per day.

Among US women, only about 33% consume coffee on a regular basis. Statistics show that women drink 1.79 cups of coffee per day, on average. They prefer to drink milk coffee based on natural or vegetable milk, as well as with cream or milk powder. Most often it’s a sweet coffee with sugar or its substitutes. US women prefer to go to large national coffee chains and often choose large coffee portions.

These are interesting gender differences offered by coffee drinker demographics. If we consider the age characteristics of coffee drinkers, there are several contradictory aspects.

Adults, aged 18 to 34 years, drink less coffee, in percentage terms, than older people, but they prefer large quantities of coffee and can drink it several times a day.

Americans, who are 55 or older, often drink at least one cup of coffee per day. The percentage of such people is 74%, which indicates quite a serious consumer scale on the part of adults who are already 55 y/o.

Interestingly, about 64% of people prefer to drink coffee in the morning separately from their meals or as breakfast.

Of course, most of these people also drink another cup of coffee at work or after it. For this reason, the expression “morning starts with coffee” really does work for most people on the planet who cannot imagine their lives without coffee.

Regionally, coffee consumption data varies quite a lot. This is explained by the business workload of the regions and their professional peculiarities in terms of specialists who live and work in these regions.

Big cities with a high pace of life and working intensity have the highest rates of coffee and even caffeine consumption in general. The density of the population also has a big impact on statistics, as the more people live in a state, the more coffee they consume in general.

The leading state in coffee consumption today is New York, which has a record number of coffee shops and other establishments that sell coffee to the public. After New York, the most active “coffee drinkers” are Seattle and San Francisco.

It turns out that California and Washington are the next regions that statistically consume much more coffee than other states. It’s noteworthy that the cheapest coffee can be bought in Oklahoma, where the average coffee pack will cost you about $3.38. Ohio has the highest prices for coffee – $8.16 per pack.

There are more than 20,000 large coffee shops in the U.S., and the number of establishments continues to grow every month. The fact is that over the last fairly long period of time, the price of coffee has dropped to about $1 per pound of green beans. Of course, coffee processing, roasting, and grinding require their own expenses.

The daily caffeine dose, that enters the human body when drinking coffee, varies from 100 milligrams to 350 milligrams per day. The caffeine amount in espresso is about 70 mg and slightly lower in cappuccino. Adults are recommended to drink no more than 3-4 cups of coffee per day otherwise, there is a possibility of harm to the body. This is due to the fact that excessive use of caffeine often leads to sleep disturbance, a strong heartbeat, and even tachycardia.

A safe caffeine intake per day is equivalent to 300 milligrams. It is worth remembering that caffeine affects the whole body, affecting the blood system, expanding blood vessels, and increasing pressure. Also, do not forget that caffeine is not only present in coffee and coffee drinks but in many other products, so pay attention to other beverage and medicine composition.

Now let’s talk about products that also contain caffeine, i.e. chocolate, cocoa, energy drinks, energy bars, and tea. Many headache pills also contain caffeine in quite a high dosage. All these positions have almost the same effect on the body as coffee, so do not forget about the daily rate of caffeine for adults, which is, at its best, 250 mg of caffeine. Sometimes, it is acceptable to consume up to 400 mg but then you need to pay more attention to your health and a good night’s rest.

To sum up, it is worth saying that drinking coffee is quite safe for health when it is done with a good sense of proportion. Statistics show that many people in various countries of the world prefer to drink coffee every day. The coffee market and consumption rates continue to grow rapidly, indicating that coffee will increasingly be on people’s menus, as a staple product for breakfast and during the day.

Northern European countries demonstrate a particular coffee addiction, drinking around 9-10 kg of coffee per person annually. Many countries are still far from such figures but with the development of the industry, certain countries in the world may soon catch up with these figures.
